Friendly Reminders for This Weekend Full of Meets
It's Almost Friday Penguins! Hope to see you at tomorrow's Fun Practice from 5-6pm followed by our Friday Pep Rally at the Pool. This Saturday is our second dual meet of the swim season vs. Upper County Dolphins and then on Sunday is our Divisional Relay Carnival at Kemp Mill.
Here are the details for Saturday’s Dual Meet @ Upper County:
- Upper County Community Pool Address ~ 8211 Emory Grove Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
- The theme for this Saturday’s Swim Meet is Olympics! In honor of the Swimming Olympic Trials happening in Indianapolis, come to the meet representing your country of choice.
- Parents and swimmers should arrive no later than 8am. For those parents who are volunteering, please arrive no later than 7:45am to help us prepare for the Swim Meet.
- Your swimmers should wear their swim meet suit - for girls, a one-piece suit with no zippers or other fastening devices & for boys, a jammer-like suit. Exemptions to the MCSL rules for swim suits will be granted only for religious beliefs, medical conditions, etc. Please see one of the team reps if this is the case.
- What to bring for your Swimmer:
- Goggles + Extra 2x Spare, Penguins Swim Cap + Extra Spare, towel, WATER!, sunscreen, bug spray, something to sit on, and healthy snacks - fruit, good carbs, and healthy proteins are perfect to bring to the meet.
- Not required but is nice to have is cards or something NON-ELECTRONIC to do in between events.
- Parents = Please remind your swimmer to use their listening ears on Saturday. They need to keep an ear & eye out for the Events they are swimming in. Remind them to keep track of their Swim Cap & Goggles and make sure they are ready to go for their events.
- Please encourage your swimmer to stay in our Team area if not swimmer and/or cheering on their teammates. Encourage your swimmer to cheer on their teammates as they swim. It’s always cool to watch the older swimmers get encouragement from the younger swimmers :)

Here are the details for Sunday’s Divisional Relay Carnival @ Kemp Mill:
- Kemp Mill Swim Club Address ~ 11805 Stonington Place, Silver Spring, MD 20902.
- The theme for the Sunday Relay Carnival is Comfy Cozy! Come dressed in your comfy clothes - think PJs and sweatpants.
- Parents and swimmers should arrive no later than 7:45am. For those parents who are volunteering, please arrive no later than 7:45am to prepare for the Relay Carnival.
- Your swimmers should wear their swim meet suit - for girls, a one-piece suit with no zippers or other fastening devices & for boys, a jammer-like suit. Exemptions to the MCSL rules for swim suits will be granted only for religious beliefs, medical conditions, etc. Please see one of the team reps if this is the case.
- What to bring for You and Your Swimmer:
- For your swimmer - please make sure that they have Goggles + Extra 2x Spare, Penguins Swim Cap + Extra Spare, towel, WATER!, sunscreen, bug spray, something to sit on, and healthy snacks - fruit, good carbs, and healthy proteins are perfect to bring to the meet.
- For your own family, we recommend you to bring chairs, shade, sunscreen, bug spray, and LOTS OF WATER!

- The Kangaroo Cafe will be open for snacks & drinks - They accept cash & Venmo payments.
