So proud of our Poplar Run Penguins for their swims against the Middlebridge Marlins on Saturday. We will be forever grateful to Middlebridge for role in the formation of our team! And we always love watching our Penguins get better week after week! Go Penguins! 

This week is a very busy week for our Poplar Run Penguins!

• We will hold regular Morning Practice Monday through Thursday this week.
• We will only hold Afternoon Practice on Monday and Thursday - no Afternoon Practice on Tuesday due to our coaches needing to coach our Penguins who are swimming in the MCSL Coaches Long Course Meet.
• See below for the plan for Wednesday’s afternoon event.
• On Friday, we will have our last regular Fun Practice from 5-6pm followed by our Team Pep Rally Pot Luck.

  • Emperor & Macaroni: 7-8am
  • Rockhoppers 1: 8 - 8:45a

• Emperor & Macaroni: 4:30 - 5:30pm

• Little Blues 1: 5:30-6pm
• Little Blues 2: 6-6:30pm
• Little Blues 3: 6:30-7pm

This Wednesday is our fun 10 & under Penguin Lollipop Meet. Warm-Ups are at 5:30pm with the Meet starting at 6pm.

For this first ever Penguin Lollipop Meet, all our 10 & under Penguins will have a chance to swim. Our Little Blues will have a chance to swim a 25 Meter Freestyle, 25 Meter Kickboard Race as well as participate in a 2x25M Kickboard Relay. All our Rockhopper Penguins will get a chance to swim 25 Meters of each stroke, as long as they are willing. Our 11 and older Penguins will be assisting with the Lollipop Meet as timers, runners, and assist Little Blues during their races.

• PARENTS - Please confirm your Penguins attendance for the Lollipop Meet via Swimtopia AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, BEFORE MONDAY EVENING!
• ALL Penguins are to be at the Poplar Run Lap Pool, ready to swim no later than 5:30pm on Wednesday.
• Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, water, swim cap, goggles, and a towel.

This Friday’s Fun Practice & Pep Rally ~ THEME is Fandom Day! Come representing your favorite fictional character, series, or superstar, whom you are a HUGE fan of!!!

Friday Fun Practice will be held from 5-6pm, followed by our weekly Pep Rally Potluck, beginning at 6pm on the Pool Deck!

PARENTS, PLEASE sign up with what you are bringing via SignUp Genius Link! Remember that our Penguins are hungry swimmers and that your contribution to the Pep Rally Pot Luck is feeding our swimmers after their fun practice.

This upcoming Saturday, we have our last dual meet of this season, AWAY vs. the Tanglewood Tigers.

We are in the process of determining meet event line-ups so PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU RSVP FOR SATURDAY’S MEET via Swimtopia by Wednesday evening - especially if your swimmer will NOT be available for the meet this Saturday!

Details regarding the Saturday AWAY Dual Meet vs. Tanglewood:

• Meet is held at the Tanglewood Swimming Pool - Address: 2922 Schubert Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20904.
• WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS!!! SIGN UP VIA SWIMTOPIA!!!
• Swimmers & Parent Volunteers MUST be there by 7:45am so that they are ready to jump in for our scheduled warm-up.
• More details will be shared later this week.

This year, the Division shirts are in the theme of 007 spy as we are Division O with 7 teams.

Shirts are $20 each & orders can be placed online via twinbrook-swim-team.square.site. Orders are due by Sunday, July 14 and will be delivered to the PR Pool during Divisionals, Sat. 7/20.
