Tonight’s Intrasquad Meet & This Weekend Full of Meets

June 25th

Today will kick off the first of our three meets this week! This afternoon will be the Annual Intrasquad Meet - Heroes vs. Villains. This weekend we have 2 meets: Saturday vs. Twinbrook Ducks and Sunday’s Division O Relay Carnival. We will have Fun Practice on Friday with the Pep Rally Potluck following.

Friendly Reminders to Parents:

  • Make sure you REVIEW our Penguin Post ~ Linked Here = Penguin Post Edition 13
  • PLEASE don’t forget to RSVP in SwimTopia for ALL OF OUR MEETS! If we don’t know that your swimmer is attending, our coaches are unable to put them into our meet entries and they won’t be able to swim during the meets.
  • We need PARENTS’ SUPPORT - please encourage your swimmer to put away their phones and cheer on their teammates during meets. We were disappointed to see some of our swimmers glued to their phones during our last few meets and not cheering on their teammates.
  • Especially given the potential for evening storms coming up, please make every effort for your swimmer to attend morning practice!!

Reminders about Tonight’s Intrasquad Meet:

  • The theme for the Intrasquad Meet will be Heroes vs. Villains. Reagan & Oliver’s waddle should come dressed with their favorite Hero and Izzy & Yusef’s waddle come dressed as their favorite villain. Check here which waddle your swimmer has been assigned = 2025 Intrasquad Meet Waddles
  • ALL Penguins meet at the Poplar Run Lap Pool - Warm-Ups start at 4:30pm & Meet starts at 5pm!
  • Bring lots of sunscreen, ICE WATER, swim cap, goggles, and towel.
  • After the Intersquad Meet, swimmers will be rewarded with PIZZA from the team.
  • We will need lots of parent support this afternoon - please sign-up to volunteer for a position via Swimtopia.
  • Parents - please bring drinks and other dinner items with you for your family and swimmer(s). Donations to help cover the pizza cost will be greatly appreciated via the Penguin Square Site @ https://praquatics.square.site/

Reminders about this Weekend’s MEETS:

  • Fun Practice on Friday - Still planned from 5-6pm with our Pep Rally Potluck afterwards.
  • Saturday is our next Dual Meet vs. Twinbrook @ Our Pool. The theme for this meet is Penguin Black & White.
    • We need all our swimmers & parent volunteers to be at the Pool NO LATER THAN 7:30am.
    • Parents please check out the Volunteer Jobs on Swimtopia and sign up to help!
  • Sunday is our Divisional Relay Carnival at Kemp Mill Pool. The theme for this meet is Comfy Cozy.
    • We will need all swimmers and parent volunteers to be at Kemp Mill Pool NO LATER THAN 7:45am.
    • Make sure to bring LOTS OF WATER, BUG SPRAY, SHADE, and SEATS!
    • Parents please check out the Volunteer Jobs on Swimtopia and sign up to help!
    • Following MCSL tradition, we will also have both a "Parent Relay" and a "Coaches Relay" after the last event. Parents please sign up via Swimtopia if you are willing and able to swim in our Parent Relay. Make sure you bring your swimsuit, googles, and swim cap if you are one of our amazing parent relay swimmers! Meet details will be sent later this week.

Banquet will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 5pm at the Poplar Run Clubhouse

Join us to celebrate the end of our inaugural season and all of its highlights! The evening will start with the Team Award Ceremony, followed by dinner from our wonderful sponsor, Marathon Deli, and then of course, fun in the pool!

Adults tickets are $10 and Child (17 & under) tickets are $7.
