Last Dual Meet Tomorrow & Friendly Reminders

Penguins, we know it was very disappointing to not be able to swim our B Meet vs. Strathmore Bel Pre on Wednesday! However, we have our last Dual Meet of the Season this Saturday vs. Middlebridge Marlins! We do need more parent volunteers for this meet so please check our Swimtopia & sign up if you are able & willing. We can’t run our meets without our amazing parents! Below are some additional details regarding our Last Dual Meet.

We were able to schedule ANOTHER B MEET for our Penguins to be held AT OUR OWN LAP POOL on WEDNESDAY, JULY 16th vs. the Quail Valley Marlins. We have added the meet to Swimtopia so please make sure you have RSVPd your swimmer for this last B Meet & don’t forget to volunteer via Swimtopia.

TOMORROW is our last DUAL A meet vs. Middlebridge Marlins at the Middlebridge Community Pool.

Coaches have finished the meet line-up and have published the Meet Entries on SwimTopia. WE ARE IN NEED OF PARENT VOLUNTEERS! PLEASE SIGN UP VIA SWIMTOPIA TO HELP US OUT DURING THIS LAST DUAL MEET!!!

Details regarding the LAST Saturday Dual Meet @ Middlebridge:

  • The meet is held at Middlebridge Community Pool, 2041 Hickory Hill Lane, Silver Spring, MD.
  • The THEME for our last meet is Throwback to Past Decades! Come dress to the T as we did in past decades.
  • WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS!!! SIGN UP VIA SWIMTOPIA!!!
  • Swimmers & Parent Volunteers MUST be there by 7:45am.

Important Note to Parents: Please help us share this important message that ALL of our swimmers are integral to the team, regardless of whether they are on the lineups for this weekend and Divisionals. While we do our best to include as many swimmers as possible in meets throughout the season, there will be times where we do not utilize every available swimmer in a meet. Some of our age groups have significantly more swimmers than others, and that can lead to disappointed swimmers. To learn more about the meet lineup process, please check out the Meets Overview from the Handbook or the FAQ.

Some FAQ about Divisionals:

  • What is the Divisional Championship Meet?
    • The Divisional Championship Meet is the culminating swim meet of our swim season. Each team in the division swims together for this meet.
    • The top two swimmers per team per event will compete during this meet. This means that we get two entries per event - so we are swimming our fastest swimmers per event to give us the best chance of winning the races and overall meet.
  • Who can swim Divisionals?
    • Any penguin who has swam in a Dual A Meet (Saturday / Sunday). Coaches are reviewing penguin swim times to strategically select the fastest swimmers per event.
    • Penguins can swim up to 5 events during Divisionals. This can be a combination of relays and individual strokes.
  • Can we still attend if not swimming?
    • OF COURSE! We hope to see all our penguins and families at Divisionals to show Division O what the Penguins are all about - TEAM SPIRIT!!!

As always, if you have any questions and/or need any additional information, please email your friendly Team Reps - Tobii & Kristin at [email protected] or find one of us on the pool deck.
