First Dual Meet of the Season is this Saturday!
Happy Wednesday Penguins! We weathered our first storm practice cancellation! We hope to see you at Friday’s Fun Practice from 5-6pm with our first Friday Pep Rally at the Pool. This Saturday is our first dual meet of the swim season vs. the Diamond Farm Stingrays.
Here are a few reminders for Saturday’s Meet:
- This is our FIRST Dual Meet & our FIRST HOME MEET!
- We need all the help we can get to set-up our pool in meet configuration. If you can arrive early - 7:30am - to help us we would love your assistance.
- Penguins MUST BE AT THE POOL NO LATER THAN 7:45am. We have the first Warm-Up so we need our Penguins ready to jump in and swim fast!
- The theme for this Saturday’s Swim Meet is Tropical Paradise! Come to the meet wearing your tropical gear if you want.
- Your swimmers should wear their swim meet suit - for girls, a one-piece suit with no zippers, tie-backs or other fastening devices & for boys, a jammer-like suit. Exemptions to the MCSL rules for swim suits will be granted only for religious beliefs, medical conditions, etc. Please see one of the team reps if this is the case.
- What to bring for your Swimmer:
- Goggles + Extra 2x Spare, Penguins Swim Cap + Extra Spare Cap, towel, something warm to wear in between events & after the meet, something to sit on, and a water bottle.
- Healthy snacks - fruit, good carbs, and healthy proteins are perfect to bring to the meet. We will have concessions open as well - Cash & Cards will be accepted :)
- Not required but is nice to have is cards or something NON-ELECTRONIC to do in between events.
- Parents = Please remind your swimmer to use their listening ears on Saturday. They need to keep an ear & eye out for the events they are swimming in. Remind them to keep track of their Swim Cap & Goggles and make sure they are ready to go for their events.
- Please encourage your swimmer to stay in our Team area if not swimmer and/or cheering on their teammates. Parents - we need your help in keeping our Team area organized and clean - encourage your Penguin to throw away their trash and keep our area CLEAN!
- Meet lineups will be available in SwimTopia on Friday Morning. Availability does not guarantee every swimmer will be swimming on Saturday due to our large team size, various skill levels. We do have many opportunities for our swimmers to show their skills; our next Dual Meet is Next Saturday 6/20 at Clarksburg Town Center and our first B Meet vs. Norbeck Grove is on the following Wed. 6/24 at home. Everyone who RSVP's to attend the B Meet on Wed. 6/24 will be entered into the meet. So make sure that you have RSVP’d your swimmers as soon as possible for any and all of the meets via SwimTopia. To learn more about the meet lineup process, please check out the Meets Overview from the Handbook or the FAQ.
