Friendly Reminder ~ TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO RSVP FOR SATURDAY'S DUAL MEET VIA SWIMTOPIA! WE ARE ALSO IN NEED OF KEY VOLUNTEER ROLES!!!

Here are a few reminders for Saturday’s AWAY Dual Meet @ Clarksburg Town Center:

• Saturday’s meet will be held AWAY at Clarksburg Town Center. Their pool address is 12901 Sugarloaf Chapel Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871. It’s about a 30 minute drive with no traffic, so please plan accordingly.
• The theme for this Saturday’s Swim Meet is FANDOM! Come to the meet showing off your favorite character - movie, tv series, games, sports, books, and celebrities.
• Parents and swimmers should arrive no later than 7:45am.
• Parking is available in the pool parking lot, along the surrounding neighborhood streets, and at Little Bennett ES just down the hill to the left of the pool. Address to Little Bennett Elementary School - 23930 Burdette Forest Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871
• Your swimmers should wear their swim meet suit - for girls, a one-piece suit with no zippers or other fastening devices & for boys, a jammer-like suit. Exemptions to the MCSL rules for swim suits will be granted only for religious beliefs, medical conditions, etc. Please see one of the team reps if this is the case.

• What to bring for your Swimmer:
  • Goggles + Extra 2x Spare, Penguins Swim Cap + Extra Spare Cap, towel, something warm to wear in between events & after the meet, something to sit on, and a water bottle.
  • Healthy snacks - fruit, good carbs, and healthy proteins are perfect to bring to the meet. There will be concessions open as well - Cash, venmo, & cards are accepted
  • Not required but is nice to have is cards or something NON-ELECTRONIC to do in between events.
• Parents = Please remind your swimmer to use their listening ears on Saturday. They need to keep an ear & eye out for the events they are swimming in. Remind them to keep track of their Swim Cap & Goggles and make sure they are ready to go for their events.
• Please encourage your swimmer to stay in our Team area if not swimmer and/or cheering on their teammates. We encourage you to bring tents and chairs to use in our Team area, which is from the baby pool until the Big Purple Umbrella.
• Meet lineups will be available in SwimTopia on Friday. Please note: Availability does not guarantee every swimmer will be swimming on Sunday due to our large team size, various skill levels. We do have many opportunities for our swimmers to show their skills; our next meet is on Wednesday at the Intrasquad Meet. So make sure that you have RSVP’d your swimmers as soon as possible for any and all of the meets via SwimTopia. WE NEED YOU! Please sign up for these important roles via our Swimtopia as soon as possible! We can not have our meet unless we have these critical positions filled by Parent Volunteers!!!

Next week, we will have regular Morning & Afternoon Practice on MONDAY, TUESDAY, and THURSDAY and ONLY morning practice on WEDNESDAY. Our afternoon practice on WEDNESDAY will be replaced by our 1st B Meet of the Season, starting at 5pm ~ see details below.

Monday - Thursday Mornings:

• Emperor & Macaroni: 7-8am
• Rockhoppers: 8-9am

Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday Afternoons (Wednesdays will be meets):

• Emperor: 4:30-5:20pm
• Macaroni: 5:25 - 6:15pm
• Rockhoppers: 6:20 - 7pm

• Little Blues Groups as Scheduled

NEXT WEDNESDAY’S B MEET VS. NORBECK GROVE ~ Wed. June 24th at HOME

Please make sure you have RSVP’d if your Penguin will be available to swim in our first B Meet vs. Norbeck Grove at HOME on Wednesday June 24th. The meet starts at 6pm with warm-ups at 5pm. Our goal is to have as many of our swimmers swim events so please make sure your Penguin is ready to swim on Wednesday!

For our Little Blues - please make sure you RSVP them as well. We will be having a kickboard race for ALL our Little Blues and If your Little Blues is ready to try the 25M Freestyle &/or 25M Backstroke, please make sure that you note that on your Little Blues’ RSVP in Swimtopia.

Friday’s Fun Practice & Pep Rally: Don’t forget to sign up to participate in at least one of the Pep Rallys this season! 

Friday’s Fun Practice will be held from 5-6pm, followed by our weekly Pep Rally Potluck, beginning at 6pm on the Pool Deck! Saturday June 18th at 5pm at the Poplar Run Clubhouse
