This week is full of swimming events! Tomorrow is our first B Meet of the Season and then this weekend we have our 3rd Dual A Meet at Norbeck Hills PLUS our Divisional Relay Carnival at Whetstone. Plus this Friday will be our Fun Practice full of relays with the Pep Rally Potluck following.

Friendly Reminders to Parents:

• PLEASE don’t forget to RSVP in SwimTopia for ALL OF OUR MEETS! If we don’t know that your swimmer is attending, our coaches are unable to put them into our meet entries and they won’t be able to swim during the meets.
• We need OURS PARENTS’ SUPPORT - please volunteer to fill one of the super important roles for our upcoming meets via Swimtopia! We appreciate all you do and know that without our amazing parent volunteers, swim meets would not happen.
• Especially given the potential for evening storms coming up, please make every effort for your swimmer to attend morning practice in the weeks to come!!!

Reminders about this Week’s MEETS:

• Wednesday’s B Meet is at our very own pool ~ The theme for the B Meet will be your Favorite Color - come dressed in all one color!
  • ALL Penguins meet at the Poplar Run Lap Pool, ready to swim at 4:30pm on Wednesday.
  • Little Blues will have a kickboard race during the Halftime of this meet. If your Little Blues is ready to try the 25M Freestyle and 25M Backstroke, please make sure that you note that on your Little Blues’ RSVP in Swimtopia.
  • Bring lots of sunscreen, water, swim cap, goggles, and towel.
  • We still need A LOT OF PARENT VOLUNTEERS! Please sign up to fill one of the many roles via our Swimtopia!
  • Concessions will be available for purchase of course! Pizza, hot dogs, oh my!
• Friday’s Fun Practice full of relays - Planned from 5-6pm with our Pep Rally Potluck afterwards.

• Saturday is our 3rd Dual Meet of the Season at Norbeck Hills - Address: 17580 Macduff Ave, Olney, MD 20832.
  • The theme for this Saturday’s Swim Meet is Culture Pride! Come to the meet representing your Culture Pride by wearing something from your culture & heritage in honor of the World Cup!
  • Parents and swimmers should arrive no later than 7:45am.
  • Parents - we still need volunteers so please check out the Volunteer Jobs on Swimtopia and sign up to help!
• Sunday is our Divisional Relay Carnival at Whetstone - Address:19140 Brooke Grove Court, Montgomery Village, MD 20886.
  • The theme for the Sunday Relay Carnival is Comfy Cozy! Come dressed in your comfy clothes - think PJs and sweatpants.
  • We will need all swimmers and parent volunteers to be at Whetstone NO LATER THAN 7:45am.
  • Make sure to bring LOTS OF WATER, BUG SPRAY, SHADE, and SEATS!
  • WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE THIS MEET HAPPEN - Parents please check out the Volunteer Jobs on Swimtopia and sign up to help! Some of the volunteer positions come with a parking pass - prime parking access!!!
  • Following MCSL tradition, we will also have both a "Parent Relay" and a "Coaches Relay" after the last event. Parents please sign up via Swimtopia if you are willing and able to swim in our Parent Relay. Make sure you bring your swimsuit, googles, and swim cap if you are one of our amazing parent relay swimmers!
  • We will send out parking information on Saturday following the A Meet as well as additional information.

Important Note to Parents: Please help us share this important message that ALL of our swimmers are integral to the team, regardless of whether they are on the lineups for this weekend. While we do our best to include as many swimmers as possible in meets throughout the season, there will be times where we do not utilize every available swimmer in a meet. Saturday’s meet will be our toughest challenge against the one of the strongest teams in the division and Sunday’s Relay Carnival involves complicated lineups to meet the relay requirements. Some of our age groups have significantly more swimmers than others, and that can lead to disappointed swimmers. To learn more about the meet lineup process, please check out the Meets Overview from the Handbook or the FAQ.

  • This Swim Meet’s Theme is Patriotic USA in honor of July 4th!
  • Be at our Lap Pool NO LATER THAN 4:30pm.
  • There will be a light Morning Practice on Wednesday, July 1st!
• Tuesday, July 7th = Only Morning Practice - NO AFTERNOON PRACTICE FOR LAP POOL PENGUINS!
  • Afternoon Practice will NOT be held due to the MCSL Coaches Long Course meet in Rockville.
  • Little Blues will still have practice!
• Wednesday, July 8th = 2nd B Meet vs. Middlebridge @HOME
  • Make sure to RSVP via Swimtopia!!!
• Saturday, July 11th = Last A Meet at Whetstone
  • Make sure to RSVP via Swimtopia!!!
• Wednesday, July 15th = Lollipop Little Blues Meet
  • This Meet is focused on our Little Blue Penguins to try swimming in the lap pool, have kickboard races, and have fun!
  • Older swimmers will serve as timers and assist with our Little Blues so we hope everyone will plan to attend!
