PLEASE READ FOR OUR WEEKEND OF FUN! ~ Details & Reminders

Thank you to all our parent volunteers who helped make last night’s B Meet a roaring success! We had some amazing Little Blues swim their heart’s out during the Kickboard Race and some awesome Penguins swim their first races of the season!

Looking ahead - we are hosting our 4th Dual Meet of the Season on Wednesday July 1st and are in need of someone to lead our amazing Concessions during the meet - a great fundraiser opportunity for our team! Please see Tobii Mason - [email protected] if you are interested!

Here are a few reminders for Saturday’s AWAY Dual Meet #3 @ Norbeck Hills:

  • Saturday’s meet will be held AWAY at Norbeck Hills - Their pool’s address is 17580 Macduff Ave, Olney, MD 20832.
  • The theme for this Saturday’s Swim Meet is Culture Pride! Come to the meet representing your Culture Pride by wearing something from your culture & heritage in honor of the World Cup!
  • Parents and swimmers should arrive no later than 7:45am.
  • Parking is available in the pool parking lot and once the lot fills up, please park along MacDuff Ave.
  • Your swimmers should wear their swim meet suit - for girls, a one-piece suit with no zippers or other fastening devices & for boys, a jammer-like suit. Exemptions to the MCSL rules for swim suits will be granted only for religious beliefs, medical conditions, etc. Please see one of the team reps if this is the case.
  • What to bring for your Swimmer:
    • Goggles + Extra 2x Spare, Penguins Swim Cap + Extra Spare Cap, towel, something warm to wear in between events & after the meet, something to sit on, and a water bottle.
    • Healthy snacks - fruit, good carbs, and healthy proteins are perfect to bring to the meet. There will be concessions open as well - Cash, venmo, & cards are accepted
    • Not required but is nice to have is cards or something NON-ELECTRONIC to do in between events.
  • Parents = Please remind your swimmer to use their listening ears on Saturday. They need to keep an ear & eye out for the events they are swimming in. Remind them to keep track of their Swim Cap & Goggles and make sure they are ready to go for their events.
  • Please encourage your swimmer to stay in our Team area if not swimming and/or cheering on their teammates. We encourage you to bring tents and chairs to use in our Team area, which is the right half of the covered area at the end of the pool - Lane 6 is nearest to our team area.
  • Meet lineups are already available in SwimTopia. Please note: Availability does not guarantee every swimmer will be swimming on Sunday due to our large team size, various skill levels. We do have many opportunities for our swimmers to show their skills; our next meet is on Wednesday vs. Ashton! So make sure that you have RSVP’d your swimmers as soon as possible for any and all of the meets via SwimTopia. To learn more about the meet lineup process, please check out the Meets Overview from the Handbook or the FAQ.

Reminders about Sunday’s Relay Carnival:

  • The Divisional Relay Carnival will be held at Whetstone - Address:19140 Brooke Grove Court, Montgomery Village, MD 20886.
  • The theme for this meet is Comfy Cozy. Come dressed as comfy and cozy as possible - think PJ’s!
  • We will need all swimmers and parent volunteers to be at Whetstone NO LATER THAN 8am.
  • Check to see which Relays your swimmer will be swimming - 2026 PR Penguins Relay Carnival Line-Up
    • If your swimmer is not able to swim on Sunday at the Relay Carnival, please email the Team Reps ASAP so we can let the coaches know & they can rework the relays.
  • Make sure to bring LOTS OF WATER, BUG SPRAY, SHADE, and SEATS! Check out the Relay Carnival layout for our team area - Division N Relay Carnival - pool team areas - June 28 2026.pdf
  • WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE THIS MEET HAPPEN - Parents please check out the Volunteer Jobs on Swimtopia and sign up to help! We still need the following roles to be filled:
    • Stroke & Turn Judge (SUPER IMPORTANT!)
    • Timers - WE NEED 3 TIMERS!!!
    • Parent Relay - Need one more leg for our Parent’s Relay!
  • Following MCSL tradition, we will also have both a "Parent Relay" and a "Coaches Relay" after the last event. Parents please sign up via Swimtopia if you are willing and able to swim in our Parent Relay. Make sure you bring your swimsuit, googles, and swim cap if you are one of our amazing parent relay swimmers!
  • Parking: Whetstone will assign 5 parking spots per team in the parking lot in front of the pool, through the end of the warm-ups - then those spots will be open for anyone. If you received a pass from Tobii, please place the pass in the front of your vehicle when you park in the Pool Parking Lot. There are a limited number of handicap parking spots available in the pool parking lot as well.
    • Check out this diagram to determine the best parking lot for your family - Whetstone Pool - Parking_2026 Relay Carnival.pdf. TOP Recommendation is that your driver drops off all your passengers and belongings and then parks in Options 1 or 3 and then uses the Pedestrian Tunnel to get to the Whetstone Pool.
    • PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS NEAR THE POOL!
  • Concessions: The Whetstone Concession Stand will be OPEN and fully stocked. They accept Cash, Card, and Apple Pay. They will have breakfast items and ramen noodle soups in addition to other snacks, candy, and drinks.

Important Note to Parents: Please help us share this important message that ALL of our swimmers are integral to the team, regardless of whether they are on the lineups for this weekend. While we do our best to include as many swimmers as possible in meets throughout the season, there will be times where we do not utilize every available swimmer in a meet. Saturday’s meet will be our toughest challenge against the strongest team in the division and Sunday’s meet involves complicated lineups to meet the relay requirements. Some of our age groups have significantly more swimmers than others, and that can lead to disappointed swimmers. To learn more about the meet lineup process, please check out the Meets Overview from the Handbook or the FAQ.
